Karataş Companies is a family company with roots dating back to 1958. The company, founded by the late Ziver KARATAŞ in Istanbul, has expanded into sub-companies over time. Important milestones in this process are as follows:
The management of the company was undertaken by the late Ziver KARATAŞ from its establishment until 2008, and was taken over by Muhittin KARATAŞ after his death.
Karataş Group of Companies serves its customers with 9 warehouses in Gemlik with a total area of 63,910 m2, with a closed area of 31,540 m2.
It has been subject to quality management certificates with the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization since 2011. These documents include environmental permit and collection and separation license, DIN EN ISO 14001-2015 management certificate within the scope of environmental management and ISO 9001:2015 quality management certificate.
Karataş Group of Companies, operating in Gemlik district, is among the tax record holders in the district and has an important position in Corporate Tax.
It won the “Environment Sector Leader” awards in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 at the 'Adding Value to the Economy' award ceremonies organized by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These achievements highlight the company's sustainability and environmentally focused leadership approach. Karataş Group of Companies has been an important business partner of Borusan Group since the 1970s. Borusan Mannesmann Boru carries out the purchase and sale of first quality and second quality products and scraps of Borçelik and Kerim Çelik factories. In the last five years, it has made intensive industrial investments and included leading companies of Turkish industry such as Tosyalı Holding, Yücel Boru Group, Yıldız Demirçelik, MMK in its supplier portfolio in order to respond to increasing customer demands.
